ALEX Beresford – best known as the weatherman on Good Morning Britain – has quit ITV West Country.
Alex shocked fans by revealing he was leaving his weather presenting duties.
Who is Alex Beresford?
Alex Beresford is best known for his role as weather presenter on Good Morning Britain.
But he’s also been a co-host on the popular ITV show.
He was born on November 28, 1980, in Bristol and has one brother.
Alex began his career in 2004 working for ITV West Country, initially as an auto-cue operator, before training as a weather presenter – and he soon moved to ITV Weather in 2007 as a national presenter.
That led him to become a resident weatherman for Daybreak, which subsequently became Good Morning Britain.
He competed in the 2018 series of Dancing On Ice alongside the likes of Kem Cetinay, Brooke Vincent and Candice Brown.
He was paired up with Dancing On Ice veteran Brianne Delcourt and the pair left the show in week eight after falling agonisingly short of reaching the semi-finals.
In 2021, Alex criticised Piers Morgan on GMB for his comments regarding Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah.
Morgan later quit the show.

Is Alex Beresford quitting Good Morning Britain?
Alex will continue to be a part of the GMB presenting line-up but has quit his role as West Country weather presenter.
He has been offered a new role with the national ITV news team.
He shared: “The West Country is an amazing place to work.
“I’d never been to Cornwall before I started working at ITV West Country and I got to explore one of the best parts of the world in my opinion.
“It’s been special, especially over the last couple of years. There have been restrictions but we made it to air every night and it’s testament to the hard work here.
“Thank you so much to everyone who has been watching at home over the years, watching me growing up on TV. I’ve only ever had one job and this has been it.”
Alex added: “It’s been over a decade since I’ve been working across the region and it’s been the most amazing time,
“It’s been a special part of my life and I’m going to miss it.
“I’m a Bristol boy through and through.”
Alex will also be showing off his vocal talents on ITV’s All Stars Musical.
Who is Alex Beresford dating?
It’s not known who Alex is dating.
He split from his wife Natalia Beresford in 2019.
Alex faced backlash after accusing a woman on a dating app of fat fishing him.
He explained: “So I turned up for the date, and she was a lot different, a lot larger than she looked like in her profile pictures.”
Social media responded by saying he was “shallow” which prompted him to apologise for the comments made about a date from 15 years ago.
Why did Alex Beresford and Natalia Beresford split?
Alex and Natalia have a son called Cruz who is 10 years old.
In June 2020, he admitted they had split in 2019 despite trying to make things work.
They continued to live together for a while so to not rush things.
What shows has Alex presented?
In 2013, Alex presented his own three-part show for Channel 4 called The World’s Weirdest Extreme Weather.
And a year later he presented Britain’s Most Extreme Weather, in four parts, on the same channel.
In January 2016 he fronted a special two-part show called Floods – Are We Ready For The Future? on ITV’s Tonight programme.
He also began hosting All Around Britain with Ranvir Singh and Ria Hebden in 2o21.
